Kodiak Island · Saltwater fishing
Saltwater fishing off Kodiak Island.
Halibut on the anchor, silvers on the tide, rockfish over the pinnacles. Kodiak's saltwater is the reason the yacht exists — and the fishing happens between everything else the day throws at us.
Kodiak sits on the edge of the Gulf of Alaska — cold, productive water that feeds five species of salmon, some of the biggest halibut in the state, and rockfish stacked over every reef.
From the yacht, halibut and bottom-fish drops are minutes away. We fish deep water for barn-door halibut, work the pinnacles for yelloweye and lingcod, and follow the salmon runs in-season when tides and rivers line up.
Between hunts, most days include a couple of hours of fishing before dinner. It's not a dedicated charter trip — it's a working yacht that happens to be parked over some of the best fish in Alaska.

What we fish for
- Halibut — from eaters at 20 lb to serious barn doors north of 100.
- Salmon — silvers in the fall, kings and reds earlier, pinks and chums when they run.
- Rockfish — yelloweye, black, and quillback stacked over the reefs.
- Lingcod — in season, right on top of the rockfish structure.
- Pacific cod — steady, easy fish for the smoker and the frying pan.
